In Harlem, an overweight, illiterate teen who is pregnant with her second child is invited to enroll in an alternative school in hopes that her life can head in a new direction. Rated R for child abuse including sexual assault, and pervasive language. As part of our community programs and because of the disturbing subject matter of the film, immediately following this Sunday showing of Precious, two area social workers will be with us to discuss the movie and answer any questions our audience may have regarding the content of the film.
